Eat Clean Tea #SummerOfMatcha

I received a sample of EatCleanTea matcha, to create a delicious and healthy recipe. Before I get onto the 'recipe' I made using matcha, I will briefly tell you a bit about the product itself!

What is Matcha?

Matcha is green tea leaves from Japan that were handpicked and stone ground into a fine powder so you can ingest it however you like. Unlike other green tea's you get 100% of the benefits of matcha.

Benefits of Matcha

Matcha gives you long-lasting energy
It's a source of vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
Contains l-theanine which calms your mind and relaxes the body.
Strengthen your tooth enamel.
Will lower your blood sugar, cholesterol and look after your heart.
Boosts your metabolism.
It is a natural pre-workout and helps to burn even more fat during your workouts.
Give you beautiful clear skin
Detoxifies your body effectively and naturally with no undated side effects.

Flavours

Matcha comes in three different flavours:
Original
Matcha & Ginger
Matcha & Mint

My Summer Of Matcha Smoothie

I created a fruit smoothie using the Matcha & Ginger flavour.
To create my smoothie I used of the following fruit:
Blackberries
Strawberries
Raspberries
Red grapes
Melon
Apple
Banana

I prefer to use frozen fruit when making smoothies. I had previously sliced and frozen the fruit before I made the smoothie,  and only used a few pieces of each.

I filled the nutri bullet with fruit to the maximum line and then filled it with water.

Once the fruit had been blended, I then added the Matcha & Ginger powder. I used two scoops and then blended the smoothie again.

Here is the finished smoothie. I added a raspberry on top for aesthetic purposes.

You never know with smoothies how there gonna taste, but with this one didn't disappoint! You can taste the ginger from the Matcha powder, which was really nice and wasn't overpowering either! I think this smoothie is a great healthy option and would be the perfect drink for those hot summer days.

NYX Cosmetics

Iv been wanting to try NYX products for a while now, every time I went to make an order some of the products were always out of stock. I finally managed to get hold of all the products I wanted to try and some did not disappoint.

NXY Wonder Stick - Boots

For a while now I'v wanted a contouring product which wasn't powder based. As soon as I saw the Wonder Stick I just had to buy it. Its available in 4 shades; light, medium, dark and universal. Its an all in one highlighting and contouring stick, I love this product and its so easy to use. I find the contour stick is a lot more creamier than the highlighting stick and blends really well. I would definitely recommend this product if your new to contouring!

NXY Dark Circle Concealer - Boots

The Dark Circle Concealer is an orange tinted concealer for dark circles. This concealer is available in 4 different shades: fair, light, medium and dark. I picked up the light which I find is perfect for my skin tone. The product is creamy and glides onto the skin. It contains coconut oil which provides intensive moisture and ensures no caking. The hint of orange counteracts the purple and blue tones on the skin.

NYX 3c palette: conceal, correct, contour - Boots

The NYX 3c Palette has 6 shades.

Yellow - concealing and brightening dark under eyes circles.
Green - neutralising any redness
Purple - banishing yellow or sallow tones
Peach - conceal and brighten dark under eye circles
Warm Beige - concealing light/medium skin tones
Dark Tan - contouring or concealing depending on skin tone.

Each colour is cream based and can be mixed and matched together. I use this palette everyday to conceal under eye circles and to neutralise redness. I gently pat the product onto my skin and then apply my foundation on top using a beauty blender.

NYX Studio Finishing Powder - Boots

I got this translucent loose powder because I wanted to try the whole ‘baking’ technique. Its a lightweight, fragrance free loose powder made up entirely of finely milled silica, which gives a silky soft texture that glides across the skin. It has a matte finish and I find it stops my foundation creasing under my eyes. With this product a little really does go a long way. Using too much of the product can show up as white patches especially on camera, which isn't a good look!

Stay Matte but not flat liquid foundation - Boots

Stay Matte But Not Flat liquid foundation is an oil free and water based formula, which provides a full coverage with a mineral enrich matte finish. I found this foundation to be a major disappointment and I definitely wont be purchasing it again. The product was not good on my skin and sunk into my pores and made them more prominent. Id say I have combination skin, this product might work better on more oily skin.

I would definitely recommend NYX cosmetics as they are a really affordable brand and most of the products I'v tried have worked well!

Glossy Box - May 2016

This months Glossy Box were dedicated to favourite urban destinations. There are 4 collectable boxes which depict London, Paris, New York and Berlin. Every Glossy box includes two full sized makeup products, as well as the city skin essentials that will keep your complexion health, hydrated and protected.

GlossyBox - May 2016

Cetaphil - gentle cleaner - £8.99

Cetaphil is a gentle soap free cleanser which smoothes and nourishes the skin as it moves every ounce of makeup. You massage it into your face morning and evening and then rinse with water. This cleanser is popular with celebs such as Alexa Chung and Olivia Wilde. (Currently on offer at Superdrug)

Absolute New York - Velvet Lippie - £4.93

This lippie is "highly pigmented" and glides onto your lips. The product dries onto your lips leaving a matte finish. I didn't like this product and I'm not too sure why either, I think it was the mousse formula. I found that with this specific colour I needed a couple of applications for the colour to show up well. I'm not a fan of the colour either, it was too much of a soft pink for me.

Hawaiian Tropic - Protective dry oil

This protective dry oil has a blend of cocoa butter, coconut oil and vitamin C which nourishes the skin, while the SPF 15 offers medium protection against UVA and UVB rays. I always prefer to use tanning oils rather than lotion and I find they help towards getting a tan which i am desperately in need of.

This is a rich moisturiser that is suitable for all skin types, especially mature of ageing skin. The intensive daily moisturiser consists of hydrating British honey, antioxidant-rich propolis and potent raspberry seed oil. It is rich moisturise-boosting essential fatty acids, to improve the visible signs of ageing and leaves the skin with a youthful glow.

Revlon - Mascara - Boots £9.99

With this Glossy box, you got the opportunity to choose one of Revlons 5 amazing new mascaras. Each on is designed for a different look, from volume boosting to lash lengthening. I am yet to try this product as I have already have a couple of mascara's that I'm currently using.

I love receiving beauty boxes as you get the opportunity to try products from brands you've never heard of or wouldn't normally buy from. Even though I haven't tried most of the products I received,  I am pleased with this box. I always prefer boxes that have more makeup products and full sized ones as well!

The Lace Co-Ord

Amara Lace Bralet & Full Midi Skirt Co-Ord Set - Boohoo

This co-ord comes in three different colours; black, ivory and pink. I bought the black which is no surprise as I do lack colour in my wardrobe! I like that the lining of the skirt is shorter than the lace fabric so it shows more leg. Id prefer it if the top had a bit more coverage as it is pretty small. Its quite a dressy looking co-ord and the whole set cost £20 which is a bargain, you can't go wrong really!

Pretty Little Thing Bodysuit

I've been seeing bodysuits everywhere lately, but none have taken my fancy. They all seem to be made from thin and flimsy fabric, which is why I just love this one.  Its very structured and made from a textured crepe fabric. I wore the bodysuit with some jeans, boots and a fedora to top it off. You could also wear this bodysuit under a midi skirt with some heels for a more feminine look on a night out. So far I've been pretty pleased with my purchases from Pretty Little Thing.

The Little Lace Dress

I designed and made this dress using the left over fabric I had from making my graduate collection. I just love this brushed lace which I layered on top of ivory cotton sateen. I love the 50's style of dresses, so thats what I had in mind when creating this one.  I had designed the dress to have a shaped neckline and shoulders, it also features a low scoop back. I created the skirt part of the dress using a circle skirt pattern and incorporated pleats to give even more fullness and for aesthetic purposes. I did end up using a lot of fabric by doing this but I think it was totally worth it in the end.

The Little Black Dress

This is the first dress I've bought from Pretty Little Thing and it does not disappoint. I love the style and the details of this dress, especially the on trend chocker neck detailing! Im always unsure about buying fitted dresses online because you can never really tell what the fabrics like or how its gonna fit. With this dress the fabric didn't disappoint, its a slinky fabric which isn't thin and too clingy either, which is always good!

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

Eyeshadow Palette - Makeup Revolution

I love this palette! It has 144 different colours which is great as you can create lots of different looks for any occasion day or night. The palette comes with 2 double ended sponge applicators. I prefer to use the sponge applicators to apply the product to my eyes then use a brush to blend.

There’s a mixture of matte and glittery colours and every shade you could possibly want. My favourite colours to use are the white shimmer and the blue/greens shades. The eyeshadows are perfectly pigmented and long lasting which is good value for money. The palette costs £20 but I picked it up around christmas for just £10 so it was an absolute bargain!

P.S Just seen that MakeUp Revolution have a half price sale on now, so you can pick this palette up for £10

The Lace Up Shoe

Shoes - River Island

I picked up these shoes a few weeks ago now from River Island.. Shock! I know... my whole wardrobe is practically from River Island. Anyway on to the shoes... I don't have any shoes similar to these, I mainly live in boots or brogues, so they are a nice little addition.  I thought they would be great for the spring/summer seasons,  I just love the lace up detailing and the block heel. I recently wore them with some rolled up jeans and a loose fitted shirt.

Karen Millen Clearance Sale Haul

Some time ago now, I went to a Karen Millen clearance sale, it was a 2 day event. Omg it was amazing, the amount of bargains I picked up was unreal! Dresses which original cost around £200 I got for £10 or £20... shocking I know. Dresses were £10 if they had a fault, some of the 'faults' were just a bit of makeup on the dress! All the shoes were £10 so I took full advantage of that and picked up quite a few pairs. The good thing about all the items I got is that there suitable to wear in the summer! As I did pick up quite a few items Iv only selected a few to show in this post.

I just love the colours in this dress. Its made from a scuba material and I think the fit is very flattering! I picked this up for £10 as it had a bit of makeup on the inside of the neckline. Absolute bargain! I even managed to pick up a pair of heels in the green colour.

Couldn't resist this striped number, even though it is a bit 'snug' I couldn't leave without it.

I picked this dress up for £10 as some of the beads are missing but nothing majorly noticeable.  I love the twisted knot detailing on the waist and the beading around the neckline. I think this dress would be great to wear in the summer or on holiday, its lightweight and easy to throw on with some sandals.
