Met Gala 2016.... Who wore what?

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute in NYC. Each years event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume institute exhibition. The exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night as guest are expected to choose their outfits to match the theme of the exhibit.

This years theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology". The exhibition focuses on the contrast between handmade haute couture and machine made fashion.
"Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and pret-a-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made. But recently this distinction had become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraces the practices and techniques of the other"  explains Andres Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute.
The show features more than 100 pieces of fashion both haute couture and made ready to wear. Several handmade couture items will be juxtaposed with machine made designs.

Below I have selected a few famous faces for you to see their chosen outfit. I will be writing another post showcasing what I think are the best and worst outfits from the event!
